I am currently attending a school where I am training to be a God fearing midwife, to work in developing nations, delivering babies but also teaching and training local woman with basic knowledge and skills to use in their communities to help to reduce the unnecessary suffering of many other woman and to bring Gods value and love and hope for the future.
I am discovering God's passion and broken heart for those who are oppressed, specifically in developing nations. As we assist in delivering babies, we will intercede for them through prayer, worship, and proclaiming truth. We will be daily living out the great commission.
I have been learning from some amazing women who have been midwives for years. They have not only shared their knowledge of how I am going to help a woman give birth but also have imparted to me a passion and insight into God’s view of this process of pregnancy and labor.
One of our speakers made this statement, “Pregnancy is a catalyst for change.” That this process of pregnancy and the birth of the baby awaken hopes, desires, and drive for women to change their lives, not only in their physical lifestyles but they seek after something that is spiritually fulfilling as well. It is an open door for Jesus to be shared and a real change in their life, and the lives of their families to happen. God wants families to have a hope for the future.
“God can impart gifts but we must practice and perfect our midwifery skills”
I came with no knowledge or skills but each week I learn so much, God has given me a real love for what I am learning, and what I will be able to teach in the nations.
We have a wonderful class, 16 students and 9 staff plus 6 husbands and 9 children in total representing 11 nations: Holland, Germany, Denmark, Canada, America, South Korea, New Zealand, England, Australia, Belize and South Africa!!
“Outreach locations revealed”
At the end of September with Gods leading we will head first to Tanzania. We will stay for 3 months, working in hospitals and birth centers as well as in villages with little access to health care. We will be developing our skills as Godley midwives!
We will then go onto India, which is a nation I have longed to go to for many years and here will will have the opportunity to deliver many babies I'm sure!!
Then most of the school will head to the Philippines until June.
However a small number including myself are going to South Asia to pioneer mother and child health care work there.
God gave me the scripture Joshua 1 v 1-9 as my word from HIM to go.
So I shall be strong and courageous. I will not be afraid or dismayed, for the LORD my GOD will be with me wherever I go!
I am wondering if you will prayerfully consider embarking with me on this exciting adventure!
Through partnering with me in:-
Regular Prayer.
• For the whole team, for unity
• For the Joy of the Lord to be my strength!
• For protection against sickness and spiritual attack.
• To remain steadfast in my faith.
• To be able to stand firm as a God fearing midwife in nations that oppress women.
• As the Holy Sprit leads you!!
Gods Abundant Blessings
